Have a 2010, 32ft Tioga. Refrigerator, lights, ect will not work while traveling. I have new house batteries, have replaced power converter, have checked all breakers and fuses....battery switch is on, propane is full... Any ideas??? I have never experienced this before. Please help!!! I am so confused!! Everything works fine when hooked to power and on generator...:h

When you are connected to 120vac power your converter supplies the 12vdc power to your RV. It also charges the battery.

When not connected to AC power, the battery supplies the 12vdc power.

I agree with the others that think that the battery is not connected to the power panel, either caused by a wiring problem or something has failed. There is also a chance that the battery is not being charged due to the same problem.

When hooked to shore power, can you switch your ref to run on gas? If you can switch to gas and see if it lights. If not you may have a gas flow issue. Dick

My battery disconnect switch has a propensity to blow a 5A fuse located right at the solenoid/relay. From the way you say everything works on AC power. So does mine. When all AC is not available and that lovely fuse is blown. No 12V in the rig. I replace the fuse. Push the salesman disconnect switch and the light on the switch goes green. There are two fuses to the ??? relay. I just replace the bad one in the spring. Ya, replaced the wall switch, no joy. I have a bunch of 5A fuses now. Just use one a year.

It sounds to me like your batteries are not connected to the 12 volt panel. This can be from a battery disconnect switch, or from bad wiring between the two.

When I have problems like this I often use my jumper cables from battery to panel to test the negative and positive wires. If either jumper fixes it, it will be that feed and become easier to trace.

You may even have your battery wired wrong... Find the word NEG or symbol stamped on the 12V Battery case and make sure this is the terminal that goes to the trailer frame ground real close to the battery terminals.

Like '2oldman' is saying - 99% of the time it is something that was done wrong when working on the system... I do the same thing here once in awhile...

Did this start after replacing converter?

The battery should connect to the +BAT connection on the 12VDC Power Distribution Panel. The 12VDC from the Converter.charger unit also connects to this same connection point.

You are saying it works when on Pedestal or generator power and NO 12VDC when just on battery.

There has to be a disconnect between the battery terminals and the 12VDC Distribution Panel where all the fuses are located.

Like said above it could be simply the Battery Disconnect Switch is in the wrong position. Could also be a bad battery...

Time to pull out the MULTIMETER and do some tracing back from the battery connections...

It sounds like your battery isn't really connected. I would look for a disconnect switch or a bad resettable breaker hidden someplace.

It is set on auto and should change over to gas.

How are you trying to run your refer? It should be gas.
