only have 20AMP service to coach with outside storage

I am on a waiting list to get covered storage. Until its available the coach will be in outside storage with only 20 Amp service available.

My 2000 Bounder DP, has 30 AMP service. What I'm asking is if I put a 30 amp to 20 amp adapter on the electric hook up and turn off all 110 in the coach except for the 458 inverter/charger,will this hurt anything, and will it keep the batteries charged? In another post I asked about if the chassis batteries get charged at the same time. Which is still unclear to me, but after driving 3670 over the last six weeks, the alternator kept them well charged

Thank you all for you help. as for the chassis batteries I'll keep a watchful eye on them and put a charger on them if they drop.

My batteries will always start my engine and I don't keep it plugged in between uses. Mine sits in the barn for 6 months over the winter and still starts in the spring. It does get cold here in Michigan over the winter.

Some coaches have the ability to charge the chassis battery after the house is fully charged, but not all. Some have an EMS with a sw. for 20 amp limitations, so that one might not trip the shore breaker. Either way, count the amps and turn off accordingly. 20amps should even run one A/C if you do it right.

Fleetwood MHs do charge the chassis battery when on shore power. If you doubt this, measure the voltage on the chassis battery while shore is plugged in, then unplug and measure voltage again. You will see a drop in voltage with the shore unplugged. With a true 20 amp supply, we can run the ref, charger/converter and one AC unit without any problems. Anything other that what I have listed, does cause an overload. Depending on how much the overload is, will govern on how long it will take to trip the feed. If you use an extension cord, make sure it can carry the load you will put on it. We used a 20 amp supply for 3 TTs and our current MH, until 5 years ago when I install a 30 amp supply.

The 20 amp circuit will keep everything usable and charged except for perhaps the AC. One thing to consider is to charge your batteries then disconnect them while in storage. I assume your Bounder has a switch(es) for just that purpose. Mine has a switch to disconnect the house batteries and a separate one for the starting battery.

With the 458 Inverter/charger you can adjust the charging rate so that it is not a problem with 20 amp service. You will need to get a small charger/maintainer for your chassis battery, which I suggest you get. This will keep all of your batteries in top shape and they will work fine on 20 amp service.

As long as you don't draw over 20 AMP all is good, anything over that will trip the breaker of your power source. Keeping the batteries charged will work fine. I do it all the time to get the frig cold a few days before leaving.
Just keep a watchful eye on your coach batteries for water level.

Not an issue at all. Just keep your A/C off and electric water heater off and you could run the rest of the Coach.Do keep an eye on the batteries water level.
