Pleasure Way Promaster Lexor

If you have a Facebook account you should be able to have a preview of the 2015 Lexor based on the Promaster 3500 at PW on Facebook. Nice unit. Looks like a blend of the previous Lexor and Excel. Anxious to see the detailed specs at the Hersey show.

With that, I am not sure a Ford Transit will follow.

Thanks for posting the safari condo. Seems like a nice layout.

Well I guess if you aren't a fat, cranky old fart that doesn't mind touching his spouse during the night, the bed on the Travato is fine. 😉

I think if I bought the PleasureWay Lexor, since that fold-down sofa is so wide, I might try to just sleep east-west on that and leave the ottomans as seating. You might be able to leave the table up too. It might be more comfortable too since the seat seam would be between you and not sleeping over it.

You really won't sit up front much, since there is no table and no tv. Maybe read the paper or have a coffee, but that's about it.

This layout will probably be popular since it's fairly traditional. But I think you are really trading living space for cabinetry. I think a good alteration on this layout would be to rework the rear end to have lounge seating and a motorized drop down bed. You'd loose cabinet space, but you'd gain a more comfortable mattress and have the potential to have the entire rear of the van available to store/carry large items.

Kereams.. I agree with you about the safari condo. I spoke with them at great length (and my knowledge of french came in handy).. Problem with them is that as an american you have to bring them your own van for them to convert, its expensive and i was concerned about after purchase service. I liked their use of the 12volt compressor fridge, solar, and their use of the space inside the promaster.
Stan.. thanks. the Travato was a really good price. I read the blog a while ago and found it informative. Some problems were vehicle specific and some seem to be in the design. Overall i am really happy with it and i have a winnebago dealer near me that is really great at after sale service. and if this summer has been an indicator, i will have years of enjoyment out of it.. thanks 🙂

Erip-on the classbforum(the one called classbforum-not openroads)their is a poster named Booster who insists you can now order a b in US form condo safari. I told him that i had discussions with safariconda 5 years ago and like you said was told i had to buy van in USA and bring to them. Booster insists that a cnadian dealer says that has changed and that he could or der a safai condo for usa purchasers.?

I agree on the harshnes. That can be said throughout society. I was joking about being grumpy. I love the Travato's concept and bang for the buck(porcelain toilet ,electric awning, Bluetooth , electric step, genny). I think Winnebago is addressing the 2014's problems with the new model year and that is a good start. Did you read the blog. It may very well give you some good ideas for your rig. I too enjoy looking at the European rigs on you tube BTW.I hope you have years of enjoyment with your Travato.

Particularly since many commentors have never even seen the inside of many of the vehicles they so adamantly critique.

Isn't that what you just did in regard to the Pleasure-way Lexor? I just responded in kind.

As a snarky grumpy old man, I like the idea of the Travato and if you look here for a lengthy review thread on the Travato by a couple of young skinny English kids travelling the U.S. in their's, you will plainly see it's short comings. They made a whole website just on the Travato's strengths and short comings. I'm pretty sure all of us grumpy old men read it. I'll try to find it.

Wow sure are a lot of snarky grumpy old men in here.
I merely stated that the Luxor is just a recycled floorplan and not that interesting. While some of you may trash the Travato, some people actually enjoy owning them.. The more important point is that instead of snarky and hypercritical remarks, one might spend 3 minutes looking at the MANY floorplans that exist inside the Promaster (Ducato), since in Europe they have been converting this van (the Ducato) for over 20 years and there are some really nice rigs.

I prefer grumpy, old , and EXPERIENCED. thats why we dislike the Travato. I do however like the Promaster Pleasure Way.;)

I'm not sure the Transit could be the substitute for the Excel in that it would attract the same buyers. The Excel was a hybrid with a fiber glass back end built on a van. The Transit unibody will not accommodate that kind of design enhancement. I think Pleasure-way has made its Excel answer through the small Cs, Pursuit, Prestige and Plateau XL. Some Excel owners have already bit in that direction to small Cs over on the Pleasure-way Facebook group.

The Lexor/Excel Floor plan is tried and true, proven very popular over the years. I feel it is a much better design than the Travato and I don't think there is much room for improvement on it. The Electric Sofa makes a great bed and allows for a lot of room when you push the button and it goes back into a sofa. Also great storage under it. I'm really anxious to see what they will do with the Transit and a bit surprised they go into the Promaster. Maybe this model is going to replace the Chevy Lexor and the Transit will replace the Ford Excel. What will the future bring?

with all the advantages of the promaster width, too bad they couldn't come up with a newer and more interesting floorplan.

Surely you don't mean a floor plan that sucks like the Travato. All that width and a too narrow 46" wide bed with a corner knocked off.

The Pleasure-way Lexor plan is consistent with the rest of their lineup.

on this issue I agree 100 percent with Davydd-although sucks might be too strong a word. The Travato is a one person van.
