I bough a winegard satellite oval dish with a tripod for $8.00
at a back yard sale. I tried to set it up for my motor home tv with my home receiver, all i get is a message saying that it can't communicate with the satellite dish 775. I try to do the help, and did everything that was required. but nothing still. Can someone help me set it up and what do I need do do so. also a wiring diagram.
Thank you for any help.

Apparently I have a new model # H25 receiver. After doing some research, it is not compatible wit my dish, I will need to get an older model receiver such as a D12 receiver. I will look on E-Bay for one and see if it will work Thank’s for all you answers, if you all have any other ideas let me know. Thank's

ah, toss the $8.00 dish and get a compatible one, don't get a lesser receiver.

K.I.S.S. FORGET the RV....since you have service that WORKS at your home, use that setup to TEST the dish. Look at your current setup then aim the dish in the same direction as your existing one. Remove the cabling from the existing dish and hook it directly to the new dish. This will tell you whether you got a "deal" on the $8 dish or wasted your money. If it works with your home service, THEN proceed to the RV......Dennis

How are you connecting the antenna to the receiver? Be sure you don't use any of the existing RV wiring until you get everything else working correctly. That means running the coax through a window or between the slide directly to the back of the receiver. You then have to get to the signal strength meters, ensure they are set to the correct satellite(s) and then get the pointing parameters for the antenna (azimuth and elevation). Be sure that the post the antenna sits on is perfectly plumb and level or none of the other pointing parameters will mean anything. Once you get the antenna pointed in the right direction you will see and hear the signal coming from the receiver. Tweak it just a bit left/right/up/down until you have a good strong signal and then lock the antenna down.
What I post is my 2 cents and nothing more. Please don't read anything into my post that's not there. If you disagree, that's OK.
Can't we all just get along?

Not knowing what type of satellite service you have, if you are attempting to mix DISH TV with DIRECT TV parts, it will never work.

First, is the LNB compatible with your service?
Second, how are you attempting to hook it up?
Third, have you set the antenna to the correct coordinates?
Fourth, what dish and for what service?
Last, maybe its time to hire a professional since it appears you do not have the skill set yet to set it up correctly
