Purchase of A New Monaco Motor Home

Hi,
I am just starting as a class A RV'er.
I have done a great deal of homework and think I have found the one I'd like to purchase, but am looking for some feedback from some of you that may be more experienced than myself.
I have found a 2010 Monaco Dynasty. It appears to be in good if not very good condition for the age. I would be the third owner.
My main concern is the mileage - 56K and the hours on the generator - 1800. It has the Cummins ISM 500 HP Engine.
They are asking $210K.
Your thoughts and useful feedback are appreciated.

I see your question hasn't been answered yet. As you know, the 2006 will not have the DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter regeneration system).

The 2006 was built when the 'real' Monaco was humming along. The Executive was a nicely loaded coach, usually, with the larger Cummins or maybe a Detroit Diesel.

With any used coach, check everything, especially the maintenance records.

I just looked at the REV website and I'm surprised that it appears that there is not a 2017 Dynasty offered, only the 2017 Diplomat. The Holiday Rambler line is full with many coaches and floor-plans. I wonder if REV is going to discontinue the Monaco line?

Hello Everyone,

Thanks for all your feedback on my last question. It was much appreciated.
I have been doing a great deal of research and speaking with people.
I have been told by several people that it would be better to purchase a Monaco that was built prior to 2010 and their bankruptcy.

This being the case I am looking at the previously mentioned 2010 Monaco Dynasty Monarch or a 2006 Monaco Executive Commander. Are there any of you out there that have owned either or both that have any advice or knowledge?

Obviously I am doing all the mechanical and other due diligence in advance of purchasing either coach.

Everything your telling us is not raising any red flags. Get the motorhome checked out to see if everything is OK.

When you spend that much money, I would definitely spend a couple hundred more for an RV mechanic to go through everything.
4 whopping cylinders on Toyota RV's. Talk about great getting good MPG. Also I have a very light foot on the pedal. I followed some MPG advice on Livingpress.com and I now get 22 MPG! Not bad for a home on wheels.

Good comments. 56K miles is a bit above average. 1800 on the generator tells me they did a good bit of boondocking or Walmarting. Neither are anything to worry about. My only question for others here is the bankruptcy sequence on Monaco. I know that at some point they were throwing lots of leftover parts into units trying to squeeze out every dollar. The former is not an issue since most house and chassis parts are generic. The latter had to do with quality issues. However, I did meet an RVer last winter who bought an 2010 Monaco that was frozen in bankruptcy, and he was happy about it.

Buy yourself some peace of mind, hire a RV mechanic to give it a through inspection.

Should be a great coach but I do not keep up with prices on that new a Dynasty so no help there. 9Kmiles/year is a little more than the norm but using is better than sitting. The generator is probably good for 20,000 hours and here again using is better than not using. If it does not have almost new tires it will need new... check the DOT date code on the side of the tires...$5000 for eight new.

When using NADA values I want low retail without adding an options.
