Hi all. Just turned on my frig because we are headed out next week and it will only work on propane. Will not come on with AC power. Checked the power cord receptacle and it has power. When put on auto mode. It goes right to propane. It sounds an alarm and flashes a NO sign when put on AC power. It is a Norcold 1200 4 door model. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Does seem odd that it would fault so quickly on AC though.

WHY does it seem odd? Doug

The 120 volt fuse on the Control board is blown. The odds are, IF it is blown, one of the 2 heating elements is shorting out. You replace BOTH heating elements if this is the case and replace the fuse. Doug

Two things to check....

1. Turn fridge OFF
2. Open outside compartment door.
3. Find the black box.
4. At the bottom of the black box are two wires, a black and a white. Remove the BLACK wire for 30 seconds and plug it back in.
5. Turn the fridge back on and see if the problem is fixed...if not, see below.

1. Turn fridge OFF.
2. Open outside compartment door.
3. Find the black box.
4. Note the position of all wires going to the black box. Cell phone pic is helpful.
5. Remove wires to black box.
6. Remove 4 screws holding the cover on the black box.
7. Remove cover
8. There are two fuses inside...one is a 12VDC fuse and the other a 120VAC fuse.
9. Using a meter, check both fuses. Replace the one that's blown.
10 Reassemble in the reverse order as above..

Good luck....Dennis

Check your GFCI breaker, probably in the bathroom or next to the kitchen sink. Part of a 110 AC outlet. It will have a test and reset button. Press the reset button.
