We have a Winnebago tour we want to replace the fridge. It's a four door model that measures about 33 wide 65 high and 27 deep. I'm wondering if anyone can help with a make and model they have used to replace there's. thanks

What did you do with the outside vents? Just leave them as is or how did you cover them up? Thanks

By cutting out the thin board at the top of the hole that the 1200 uses to hold it in, it should fit without any other changes. It's the only refer I've found that does not require major modifications as most are 69+" high. Sears Outlets in Egin,IL still has it in white and Naperville, IL in black.

So does the new fridge stick out seven inches further then the Norcold 1200 LRIM? WOW! I do not think I would want another fridge to stick out that much.

No Ray, it won't. It may be 7" deeper, but it doesn't require the room behind it the Norcold does.

Take a look at the pictures in the link Dennis provided and you'll see.

Also read Ivylogs post again - the bold parts above.

Bruce, what I am comparing is the Fridge from the original poster who states that his four door fridge is 27"deep. I assume he is referring to a Norcold 1200 LRIM.
So if Ivylog installed a fridge that is 34" deep I believe that is seven inches deeper. So you know you can not go further then the wall, so that means it sticks out seven inches. Got it MR Brown?

I was not talking about fitting the fridge in. Width and Height are about the same as the Norcold 1200, but to get those extra inches of storage in the fridge the only way is out towards the inside.

I saw the 27" vs 34" number, but I think you're missing my point.

The Norcold requires X amount of open room behind it, the Whirlpool requires less.

The fridge itself my be 7" deeper, the installation depth makes up the difference.

Take a look at the pictures Dennis posted - the final installation shows them to be darn close. No where near 7" different for sure.

The Whirlpool fridge Ivylog is looking at has a required cabinet depth of 28.5", the same as the Samsung Dennis installed. From what I can find on the Norcold 1200 LRIM it has a cabinet depth requirement of "26" or greater".

Either way, it won't be sticking out anywhere near 7" more. Got it Mr Chez. :W

My thoughts on it, might be a little different from most and wouldn't want to be cutting the cabinetry, so one of the smaller 60" units, along with the extra interior that comes with the residential's, would suit us just fine. With the extra width, we would welcome a built in slide out pantry. I think any brand would do and maybe something from HD or Lowes for between 3 and $400, like this one.... Clickity
As for ice, I'd much rather buy a bag when needed and keep it in the freezer.

It should stick out 6" and requires 62" to swing the door fully open (90 degrees). I have a kitchen slide across from it so not a problem when this slide is out. Even with this slide in I will still have the same width as the hallway to the back, BUT will not be able to open the door a full 90 degrees... more like 60+.
One of the best reasons to go with the Samsung is it uses DC compressors so it works well on a MSW inverter. I'm putting mine on a separate 500 AH AGM battery bank with it's own 1000W PSW inverter and a 100A charger. Have the four new batteries mounted in the engine area and wired up. Still need to run a 120V wire to the refer area. Will have to take the driver's side window out to remove/install the units.

We just installed a Samsung french door model - 18 cf. Not sure of the model #, but it's not the 197 as they have been discontinued and I couldn't find one that was still sitting somewhere unsold. Once I got this one installed, I realized that 18 cf. is plenty of fridge for us, so the larger one would have been overkill for us anyway. The one I have should fit your RV, just make sure you buy a counter depth.

I replaced the Norcold 1200LRIM with a Samsung 197 last year. I think that fridge has been discontinued and/or upgraded. Google Samsung and look for the spec sheet on each....Dennis
