Roadtrek storage compartment hinge replacement

Has anyone changed their storage compartment hinge on their Roadtrek?
I have a 2002 Roadtrek 190P. The rubber hinge is cracking. I'm not sure if this is a DIY type job or not? Has anyone done it?

If it is the same as mine it is a plastic hinge so you can use the old holes or make new ones thru the plastic hinge. There should be a profile of the hinge on the link I posted 10/6 9:52 pm. It will show that there is plenty of room for the bolt heads. I just used approximately the same amt of bolts as they used pop rivets. It has been a while but I think I used the old pop rivet holes to install the hinge to the door but I just drilled new holes when I installed to the van as I was unable to see the old holes after I raised the door into place. The plastic hinge has no holes at all. Just drill where they are needed.

Was there enough room for the head of the bolts, or did you have to do something with them? Also, i assume that you did every second hole? I'm thinking that it's like a piano hinge, or is it different?

I installed the hinge to the door and then took it out to the RT and held and propped it up and inserted a few scattered bolts to hold position then drilled all the holes and inserted the rest of the bolts up thru. I also used a small flat strip of sealant gasket before installing the hinge. By using the bolts I was able to tighten them gradually and squeeze the gasket tight. Looks like the hinge may be connected by rivets? How do you work with that? I cannot see what those connectors are. They look like rivets on one side, but underneath look like screws.

I did mine on my 99 RT Versatile. Wasn't easy but doable. I called a RT dealer for the hinge and they wanted way over $100 just for the hinge. I found the identical hinge on line way way cheaper, I will search my records and try to find where I purchased it .May take a while.
