I need to redo the seams and then re coat the entire roof. What materials are recommended for the seams, roof, and cleaning before applying ? The RV is 1999 Fleetwood Discovery 36. Roof seams to be rubber. Thanks

Do all the roof seams with Eternabond tape. You will never have a leak again. You do not even have to remove the old caulking, just clean the fiber glass real good, get the four inch tape and overlap it right over the seam.

clicky

ddndoug- the website says......"you can customize the color by adding no more than three ounces of an oil-based universal colorant per gallon of product. If the color is still not achieved you may add up to ONE more additional ounce of colorant. Colorant is available at your local paint store"

Thanks, I didn't see that on the website.

Don't mean to hijack, but.... Does anyone know if this stuff can be tinted? I ask because our RV is "cream" color.

Do I remove the existing "caulking" from roof penetrations? Then apply new or do I just remove what loose and go over with new?

Depends on what you're using. The liquid rubber says to just use a wire brush to get the loose stuff off. It's self-leveling and will find its way around the old stuff.

Mine sat for 6+ years in a tow yard and had started to leak at every penetration. After a couple of hours work, it's sealed up tight as a drum. I couldn't be more pleased with the stuff.

Yes! I put this stuff on my roof and it works awesome. I didn't apply it to the entire roof - just the seams and where stuff sticks up out of it (plumbing stacks, TV antenna, vents, etc.). 2/3 of a gallon did what I needed on my Allegro M-31. The remaining stuff is in my freezer (the instructions say that freezing it stops the hardening process - I haven't checked it in a while so I don't know if that's true). I wire-brushed along all of the areas I wanted to seal to loosen any old sealant.

It's a liquid that will find its way into any crack or crevice that could cause a leak. Then it dries like rubber - still flexible and pliable. I love this stuff.
