You need to go to Congress, AZ to pan for gold! ๐Ÿ™‚

Prescott - Point of Rocks RV is scenic...try to get in the top section. If you're 55+ Orchard Ranch in nearby Dewey is the place. Many folks stay at the fairgrounds. Other than that you'll have nice national forest campgrounds - no hookups.

This is 417 miles:

191 south to Mexican Water, AZ. West on 160 to Tuba City, AZ.
South on 89 to Flagstaff, AZ.
South on I-17 to Exit 278 at 169.
West on 169 to 69 to Prescott.

We've driven this route with our 40' motorhome. Have a good trip.

Not sure why there would be delays in Cameron, AZ on Hwy 89 unless you stopped for lunch at Cameron Trading Post....excellent Navajo Tacos!

Skip the 163 that rgatijnet posted if you want fastest (not shortest). Its a little longer distance wise but pretty flat, less hills, less curves and less traffic. However the route with 163 has Monument Valley and if you never seen it I would go that route.

...and expect traffic delays in Cameron, AZ. I also like to fuel up in White Mesa, UT, nice station with lots of room for RV. Keyenta is over priced and Tuba City is ok.

BTW, have you ever used google maps?

Depends -- which route did you take to Fruita?

I would advise you try to catch;

Monument Valley
Canyon de Chelly
Lake Powell
maybe even Grand Canyon

Lot's of options,

Are you just wanting to make the drive in the shortest time or do you want to stop and take advantage of the various sites along the way?
