We are on the market for two new steer tires for our Itasca 33v. She is also due for Allison transmission fIuid and filter change. I am hoping people can recommend good centers along our route.

Here is our route...We are leaving Charleston tomorrow, headed to Savannah then Richmond Hill, GA (Skidaway and Fort McAllister). On Labor Day, we go to Talbot Island, then Anastasia, and later to Blue Spring State parks in FL.

It is our first time in th RV in all these locations. Can you recommend good shop(s)?

Thank you all for taking the time to respond.

We were hoping to have some work done while we are in Georgia, but tropical storm Hermine is altering our plans. The storm's predicted path will keep us from driving the motorhome to a service center in the next few days. We are at Skidaway, and plan to stay put unless the Rangers advise otherwise.

So, we will seek tire and transmission services in Florida.

Lonnie&Diane, does Cummins Coach Care handle gassers as well as diesel rigs? Electric and water hookups would be very helpful to us.

W. W. Williams in Charleston and Savannah http://www.wwwilliams.com/locations_index.cfm

Williams is the Allison distributor/shop. Of course they do full service on everything else.

I've used these folks for oil change/lube before, and they do a lot of heavy repairs.

They are near exit 90 off I-95. If you are southbound on I-95, you will see the Roberts Truck Center on the right just before the exit.

I don't think they can help with tires, however. SOS Tire in Garden City sells motorhome size tires...912 964-5511. I bought a set of tires for the motorhome from them.

We use Cummins Coach Care in Ocala FL. A bit out of the way but they have nice shady parking in the rear with hookups. You stay there free if you are having service. There is also a Cummins Coach Care in Jacksonville that gets good reviews. They usually have electric and water hookups at the Coach Care sites. Join Cummins Power Club and get 10 percent off. We have used Cummins locations throughout the US and have always been satisfied. For tires Boulevard Tire Center in Deland gets good reviews. Read the reviews on www.rvparkreviews.com

The Speedco service centers at many truck stops seem to get high reviews and they sell tires, too. There is one on I95 in Brunswick, GA at the Pilot truck stop and one in Lake Park GA just inside the GA line (exit 2 off I75).
