Small Class A Diesel Suggestions Needed

Looking for suggestions on a small Class A with Diesel.

I really like the Winnebago View which is a Class C with the Mercedes Benz Sprinter Diesel, but I want to see what smaller options are available in Class A.

I just want to make sure I do my homework.

By the way the View is 25'5". I really don't need much bigger in a Class A.

If you are looking at a Sprinter chassis, make sure it can really pull the vehicle you want to pull. If you subtract the max RV weight from the max total weight, you cannot tow anything very heavy even though they have a 5K hitch.

The absolute sweet spot of RVing. They are economical. They fit everywhere and are well designed. They are easy to handle.

Some people think they need a lot more room. They are the only group that would not like a 26-30 diesel A.

I really like the Itasca.

Nice. Wish there was a consolidated list of Class A's under 12' tall. Have an issue in that is the height of my barn door and would like to store inside.

We started looking at the Via and the View. What turned us off was the lack of storage underneath. It was close to nonexistent. a nonstarter for us at least.

I realize you said you would like to stay under 30', but the Cummins powered Tiffin Breeze comes in a 31' and 32' model Tiffin Breeze

The only small(ish) diesel class A I have seen is the Monaco Vesta (and its twin, the Holiday Rambler Trip) which starts at 32 feet. Unfortunately, they no longer make them... I think there are only 2011 and 2012 models out there. They have a unique Navistar MaxxForce 7 front engine diesel with an Allison transmission and are very nicely finished outside and inside.

I know you said you were looking to stay under 25' but thought I'd throw it in there anyway.

Thanks for the suggestion. Actually I would like to stay under 30', but this is close and has a great motor and tranny.

I suggest you do some more research on that Maxxforce.

New? Used?

Four Winds Serrano and Damon Avanti were smaller diesels a few years back. But, like Vesta, were front engine diesels.
