I went to the bankruptcy sale at Vixen in Pontiac, MI. I was looking for some spare parts for my new Jamboree and possibly a generator. There was no warranty on anything because it was all from a bankrupt builder. I found the auction got higher prices for things than I would pay for them at my local dealer. They had 3 of the MHs there in various stages of non-completion that sold for about $11K each. It was an interesting day.
GMC quit building their MHs in 1978 so they weren't competition in 1989. They were just in the same town.

I like them, no they are not for everyone. But neither is a Prevost, tear drop, pop up, etc..
The MPG is very appealing.

Clutch was replaced because it seems first gear was too high. He installed a lower first gear. I believe this was s common problem and a gear change addresses it. These Vixens are fantastic, trouble free, motor homes. $25k is a steal for this one!

There is one here in Clearwater and the guy that owns it said he drove from Butte, Montana to Clearwater on a tank of fuel, 26 mpg. and not for sale.

It looks pretty neat but a few things are not addressed. It says the roof hydraulically tilts to allow 6'2" headroom but from the video you can see that it is screened on the open side and must be lowered if it is raining.
I also wonder why the clutch had to be changed at only 64,000 miles?
I could see that it might be fine for a single camper or a couple that is used to a Small C or a Class B.
I think at $25K it is priced about right but there is probably a very small amount of buyers that would want this.

30 mpg sure makes it different.
He bought it in 2005 and owns it for 14 years?
With the low mileage, looks like the owners did not appreciate it too much.

I have seen one of these cruzin around in my neighborhood. Never been able to catch up and get a good look, I am way to tall for it but it would be neat to get a look inside.

There's another one in our neighborhood (not for sale). For me, it's a pity this one has a stick-shift. I don't drive those any more.
