Tire Pressure Gauge / Filler

Hi All,

I'm having one of those moments where I feel a super simple task is becoming a major ordeal and I definitely feel its because I am doing something wrong.

I am talking about checking & filling my rear tire(s) pressures. The inside tire has a factory installed extension hose that comes straight out of outside tire.. makes it a breeze. The outside rear tires however are not so easy. The stem is on the inside and the angle of it + the wheel makes it impossible for me to get a good seal on it to check or fill the tire.

I purchased one of these clicky however the angle is still a little screwy and I hit the wheel before I can get a good seal.

Do they make any long tire filler / pressure testers that are on a long hose (not the short 6" ones) that I could slip in between the two tires from the top so I can accurately keep my tires in check without installing extensions?

I feel like I am missing something simple. Or Maybe I just need to pry the hubcap off each time

But some of the smaller wheel hand holes are to small for the more common 30º reverse to line up and fit the valve properly, and require a less common straight 180º reverse. I don't know what type wheels the OP has, but my older Alcoa wheels required the straight 180º reverse chuck and gauge.

No insult taken. And yes I know that. The issue is the angled side isnt enough of an angle to actually do the job.

You can get various types of valve extenders, (either inner or outer rear dual) They make it easy for checking and adding air.

You can also get Dually Valves for your wheels. They will definately solve your problem, and even more that you might run into if you decide to use valve extensions.

You need a air chuck with a straight on and a 180º reverse chuck, not a a straight on and a 30º reverse chuck. You can see the difference in the following pics:

Alcoa carries both the air chucks and air gauges with 180º reverse.

Yes, the angle of attack for these can be difficult to navigate, especially if the hole thru the outside wheel is on the small side. Shorter stem lengths are available which could make it more accessible. Also try rotating the chuck from side to side to find if there is a sweet spot where things line up better.

I use a rigid dual chuck (no gage) I bought at NAPA that's about 8 inches long and gives something to grab onto and line up better.
