Does anyone rotate the tires on a class A? I have read many comments about tires but cannot find where this has been addressed. If you do recommend it, how often?

Thanks, Cork

I thought I'd rotate my brand new spare tire in. That's one reason to do it. The previous owner bought 7 tires.

Many RVs have different size tires front and rear, so one would be restricted from rotating.

On the other had, I rotate my tires because I have front wheel drive. My fronts wear much faster than the rears, so when they are about half worn, they get moved to the rear and a new set gets put on the front. The rears on mine take for ever to wear, so they get cycled through. I end up buy two tires every third year. This way I can get reasonable traction in the snow.

I doubt I ever will rotate my tires as I have no idea that I will wear out the tread before the tires get too old to be safe anymore.

No reason why you can't. I won't unless I start getting an strange wear pattern on the front and would have the service tech rotate the tires as part of a front end check out or alignment.

I am not aware of any tire manufacturer who recommends rotating tires on a Class A UNLESS there is uneven tire wear.

Tire wear is much less an issue then on a car. You will very likely replace tires due to age, not tread wear.

Nope.

When the wheel/tire count exceeds four, I get confused.

No. I think the reason most don't is because most don't drive enough miles to wear out the tread before aging out the tires.

I am interested in this thread because rotation is supposed to prolong the life of the tires. Why wouldn't a person rotate them?
4 whopping cylinders on Toyota RV's. Talk about great getting good MPG. Also I have a very light foot on the pedal. I followed some MPG advice on Livingpress.com and I now get 22 MPG! Not bad for a home on wheels.
