Transition Area Behind Cab

I have an older Class C RV, and the plastic transition area on the exterior of the RV, just behind the cab is cracked at the bottom, and I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the best way to repair it would be?

I mainly just want to fix it for cosmetic reasons, as it doesn't seem to be causing any other problems, but since this is an older RV (worth maybe $3500 on a good day), I don't want to spend too much $$$ on a repair.

Plastic weld with wire reinforcement. That's what I did and it worked great. Buy the soldering iron type kit from Harbor Freight.

It is rounded at the bottom. I have a large sheet of aluminum (1/8" thick), I was thinking of maybe cutting a piece and then try to contour the bottom and then attach it in some way so that it won't come off. It will hopefully hide the ugliness and give it a little bit of extra strength.

Do you have 90 degree angles there like the rig in my sig?
If so, a new sheet of puck board or Filon would nicely cover any cracks. It is reasonably priced in thin sheets and they can be cut with tin snips.

Get some 2 inch wide "3M Scotch Brand packaging tape". Either clear or silver, depending on if you want your fellow campers to know about the scar. Kinda like when you were a kid and had your choice between skin colored and stars and stripes band-aids for your skinned knees. 🙂
You can find it at the big box hardware stores or at Amazon.

We painted ours. First we smeared body sealer into the cracks. Surface cracks I assume... We used to use two of those products. Parbond was one and I think manusprene was the other.

Are there any body shops in your area that do Plastic Welding?
