Anyone mount a spare tire either on the rear door or under the chassis of a 2017-2018 Travato? (If there even is room under the chassis!)?
If so what did you use to mount the tire, and what method? I found a promaster spare tire mounting kit on the internet but its a wench type that mounts under the chassis? And its made for a van not an RV.
Thanks, I will have a trailer hitch rack or storage chest on the hitch so that's not an option. I will not travel without a spare, ever, I'll have to figure something out?
Here is the best option - Aluminess http://www.aluminess.com/dodge/dodge-promaster-tire-rack/
Another hitch mounted option https://www.etrailer.com/RV-Cargo/Roadmaster/RM-195225.html
Worst option - sitting on the side of the road for a day waiting for someone to bring back the correct size tire. Of course, they will know they have you at their mercy with the bill because you were foolish enough to travel without a spare.
Thanks, I also have AAA and Geico roadside, however, I don't think there's anything they can do for you if you don't have a tire? I do have the tire repair kit that comes with the compressor and the slime with the plugs but if you rip apart a tire It and it can't be repaired your SOL! Also I've seen someone take a jeep Wrangler JK tire door mount Kit and mount it to fit the back of the pro master door.
There's no room under the van but I have seen hitch mounted spare carriers. Roadmaster makes one. Personally, I can't remember the last time I got a flat tire and I wouldn't want to try and jack that thing up to change a tire anyway. I'll use my AAA card if and when the time comes.
