Tv hook ups

I just bought a newer motor home and again the tv isn't hooked up. There is twelve cables in upper cabinet and none marked. Roof satellite . Distributor box for front ,back
And out side tv's. External satellite. External cable, and roof ant.
I have no idea how to hook all this up. Where do I go for help ( reasonable )

Do you have 12 cables because someone removed the switching box?

That tester would be difficult to use with the "F" connectors, this would work better Coax Tester

You can do it yourself with something like this to trace the cables. Are all 12 cables unhooked??? Is there a Sat receiver??? If no receiver then the three unhooked cables are Ant in, Sat in, & TV out (will be a short cable to switching box "TV IN").

Oh boy 12 cables.. I know how to to do it, have the tools needed, but it takes a long time to type it out.

Basically there are two ways, the short way is....

Put a resistor (or a short) on the far end of a cable.. Search for it with an ohmmeter.. When you find it, label that lead, move the short or resistor to another cable.

Option 2 is to use 100 ohm, 200 ohm, 300 ohm 400 ohm up to 1200 ohm and then measure the resistance, 105 ohms is, of course the 100 ohm, label it and go on to the next.

Have used both methods in the past.

In my experience over my lifetime, I have found that if you are that lost, you need someone physically there to help or do it for you.

Kinda like programming the old VCR clock.
Some people can do it in a few seconds, and others will only frustrate themselves trying.....doomed to staring at the flashing 12:00 🙂

I would try and figure it out myself. If you have a portable radio around, or something with an earphone plug (iPod, Smartphone, Laptop, etc), make a cable that you plug into the audio device and the cable outlets in the cabinet. Grab a speaker and modify it so you can plug it into the cable. Just walk around and plug in, when you hear the sound you can mark which one it is. If you go up on the roof you should be able to disconnect the antenna satellite coax to run the test.
