TV or DVD Player Problem

When I bought my Winnebago Adventurer new in 2004 it came equipped with a Sony TV System. I'm having a minor problem which, I don't know the cause. What happens when I put a DVD in the recorder after about 2 hours my TV goes off of Video 1 Channel (the TV is still on) and the TV screen is fuzzy? My DVD recorder is flashing and it says AUTO on the reader panel? Does anyone know what is causing this? After this happens I turn my TV setting back to Video 1, turn the DVD Recorder off then back on, then I go to the chapter section on the DVD and find the place where I left off and I'm good until the movie finishes.

you have SONY DVD RECORDER as part of the 10yr old factory installed system ?

or do you mean DVD player

or is this a VHS/dvd combination

the problem sounds like a sleep time, or record timer issue, in the tv settings
Thanks Mr. Wizard, it is the VHS/DVD Combo factory installed system, I'll check the sleep time and record time in the TV.

A wild guess, but maybe a power glitch?
Kinda sounds like both the tv and dvd are losing power just long enough to screw things up. Perhaps an inverter or transfer switch issue?
