Yes, we use one and turn off the wind sensor.
Several people we know have awning shades, but a different company.
The one we all use is Vista Shade.
It is in 2 sections, a 6 ft section that unzips and comes off plus another section that stays on and rolls up in the awning.
It looks like your awning is pretty high when extended and the Vista will allow you to have a taller shade.
For example, we have a 9 foot tall shade that reaches almost to the ground. 3 ft rolls up in the awning after we unzip the bottom 6 ft.
Our awning has the protective aluminum cover. Will this work with that type of setup?
We also have the aluminum cover. That is one of the reasons we chose the Vista. Since the bottom 6 ft is removable, only 3 ft has to roll up with the awning. Our awning is a Carefree of Colorado, Eclipse.
Your awning looks similar to ours in that it extends almost straight out because it is over a slide. When extended the roller is almost 10 ft from the ground. Using the 9 ft drop shade provides more shade area than a 6 ft drop would. We bungied it out to stakes at an angle to provide more room underneath it.
One of the friends with the same MH as ours has a 6ft drop shade similar to the one you listed and he wishes he had gotten the 9 or 10 ft drop Vista. Here is a discussion our group had about them.
