Weight limit of a slideout

I have a 2000 Pace Arrow with a wardrobe sideout in the bedroom with mirrored sliding doors. I am talking to a cabinet shop to build an insert with a full length closet on one side and 3 drawers on the other. The estimated weight w/o clothes is around 300 pounds which I think is too heavy for the single rail slideout.

What do you all think? I sent Fleetwood an email asking the weight limit a month ago and have received no reply.

All,

Thanks for all the advice. I did decide it was too much. I am going to put in some of the closet organizers for now. We have been talking about trading it after I retire in a couple of years.

chili's trip ... I guess there could be a difference in static weight limit(the limit when the slide is out) and the sliding limit(the limit to allow the slide to move in and out smoothly). I can't imagine my LV side with the couch and dinette having a 300 limit. With 2 adults on the couch and one in the dinette would push 600.

? Obviously the wt limit refers to moving the slide in and out. I didn't make up the limit, it came from Fleetwood. I doubt any one would move the slide with people using the furniture. I just replaced the motor and gear box and don't care to repeat. When I moved into the rig 4 years ago I overloaded the compartments/cabinets and the slide wouldn't move. That's how I discovered the wt limit. Thanks.

I have a limit of 27 beers in a day. It's not always best to push that limit every day. Things happen.

My point is, stay below the limit, and have a carefree life in your coach. I am the one that used to change your slide motor/pump/hydraulic lines for almost 10 years.

The total wt limit for my Bounder's big lv slide is #300. Good luck.

Too much weight. Stay right at 100-125 lbs total added weight, on the slide, and you'll be fine.

Yes, I think it's too much weight. With the additional room you'll probably also load addition weight into it. I've reduced the weight in my larger slide and it works better. If you go ahead with the project, and it may never happen, you should be sure to know how to manually operate the slide in case it malfunctions.
