Similar situation happened to me a couple years ago on our spring trip to New Orleans. We drove through some horrible storms and the driving rain literally stopped the already running genny. We checked into out CG and enjoyed the week in NOLA. Departure day it fired up like always and had worked fine since.

What Spizzer said. And your lucky it did not get Hydrolocked!

Not sure where yours is located, but on my DP, the air intake and filter seem like they could get wet pretty easy under the right conditions. If the air filter were soaked, the gen may not get enough air to run without the help of the starter....just a thought and something really to check.

Any number of potential sources could have cause the problem. Water in the connector from the inside start/stop switch, governor, run sensor, oil pressure sensor,,,,. Since it now works without a crystal ball no way of knowing.
