This is always a fun thread to watch in other forums, so I thought I'd start one here.

In the past month, I've built a carrier for 2 group 27's and hung it under the frame behind the rear axle similar to the newer CX's, wired it, and got rid of the Optima & box under the couch. Then I washed and waxed the whole dam' thing... did the last three wheels last night at twilight. Real glad it's only a 19 footer! Next it'll get some variety of intelligent charger to replace the little crummy battery boiler that's in there now. Ah, the joys of RV ownership ;)!

I also managed to find a little AA-powered desktop 'meditation' fountain. I modified it so my picky travel cat can have running water to drink from in the RV.

Did full tune up on Generator. Replaced Air Filter and Breather Filter which looked like it never had been done. My buddy who helps me with all my mechanical stuff said that was the worst air filter that he has ever seen. I don't think the previous owner was on top of his maintenance. Next big job will be replacing the brake pads.

Picked up RV from Cummins Co. Had the generator fuel/air filter changed. Had it serviced and load tested.

Tomorrow it gets a new kitchen faucet and water purifier installed at the Kitchen sink.

Tomorrow it also gets an outlet and cables installed to be able to connect the Direct TV dish to the outside of the RV into the RV to the Direct TV box.

All to get ready to leave in about 3 weeks for a 2 month trip.

Enjoy Rich! I am in Mill City right now and have been for 2 months. Doing volunteer work for the BLM and Marion County. Have really enjoyed it/meeting new people this summer.

This past week I have performed some maintenance to my 2000 Minnie 324V:

Drained/refilled the cooling system. I was only able to drain 16 quarts of the 30 quart capacity. The rest must have remained in the heads/water pump/heater core. I used Prestone green to refill. (so a bit more than 50% change out)

Bled the brake system by removing as much of the brake fluid from the reservoir with a turkey baster and refilling then bleeding the four individual disc calipers til clear fluid emerged.

Drained the 4R100 transmission and torque converter fluid and changed the transmission filter with a Motorcraft replacement. Refilled with the NEWEST formulation of Motorcraft MerconV ATF. I was only able to recover about 14.25 quarts of the 16 quart capacity. The rest must have been in the Transmission cooler/lines/valve body.

At 10 years old now and 32.5k miles I am pretty sure that none of this has been performed before since there are now previous records indicating such. I am 2nd owner. Feels good to have it behind me now.

BTW, we're about halfway through our 3 week trip from SoCal to Vancouver, BC. We'll be staying in the Bend/Sisters area of Oregon for the next 4 days then to Redwood Forest in Northern CA for a couple of days. Then off to San Francisco for 3 nights...then home!!!

Spent some time this morning repairing the window covering over the dinnette. While on the road, it suddenly came crashing down. After further inspection, when we had the day/night shades installed last year, the techs mounted the largest one with two wood screws!!! After a little modification, we're back on the road.

Went to the storage yard intending to bring the Beast home for a
cleanup however when started up a loud groaning noise was heard under
the hood, which got louder when applying the brakes. Nursed her to
the shop around the corner where my reliable mechanic when he heard me
coming into the yard told me the power steering fluid was low. Topped
it up and the noise disappeared. The fact the noise got louder when
applying the brakes kind of confused me but he informed me the power
brakes get their boost from the power steering pump. Learn something
new every day. Anyway he is going to check tomorrow to see where the
leak is. Hope whatever it is will not be too expensive.

Installed three of the 3M adhesive hooks in the bathroom. We're always hanging wet towels on the shower door, no more! The hooks are metal and had a dark finish to them. They almost match the rest of the cabinet hardware in the coach.

Received the Tire-Man Tire Valves. Made appointment to have them put on tomorrow am. Finally, I can air these tires easily and I feel safe running these without tire failure with valve extensions. The tire store that is going to put them on was very impressed with these. He said he was going to start carrying them as he gets requests for valve extensions all the time. They first said their policy was not to install valve extensions, then the owner looked at these and said that actually these are no more than valve stem replacements.

When installing the transfer switch the other day, I noticed how much open area there was under the cabinets, etc. I still had insulation left from the front cap project, so I insulated the outside walls under the cabinets and behind the jack knife sofa. That was a particularly hot spot this summer as the fresh water fill port perforates the wall there. I also insulated the drain and supply lines in the rear bath. Should be warmer this winter too!
