For Thanksgiving I saw a lot of motorhomes on the road. This Christmas, as usual, we will be traveling to be with family for Christmas and staying in an RV park. Anyone else RV-ing for Christmas? Last year the park was pretty full.

Me ... we have for the last 4 years. We will probably be parked at a friends house in Vegas, but may be on the road - who knows

This will be the first Christmas in 12 years that we are not going to be in the RV. We have been just going & blowing all year in the RV on different long trips that we are taking a break & hanging at the house. It's going to be a little odd.

We usually go further south. During Christmas, it is fun to ride around and look at all the innovative decorations! We've got some fairly tacky decorations for our moho that we love.

Looks like we'll be in ours for Christmas, out of necessity. The addition we started on our house in August has run into a few snags and now it's so cold here most of the contractors can't get their work done.

It hasn't been above 20F at our place for 5 days. The forecast says we might see it above freezing by Wednesday so maybe they can get the drywall done before the weekend. Once that's done we might be able to use more than just the kitchen.

Won't be in the RV for XMAS, but will be in it for New Years in Sedona. Leaving right after xmas and heading south. Should have left in November and would not be sitting here now in the coldest Artic blast thru Denver in a long time!

If the temps get that low here are a few tips from someone who has been in sub zero before….

Pull in the slides. (It will hold the heat better)
Disconnect from the water source and keep some in the fresh tank.
Have full propane tanks, the heaters will run a bunch.
Put 100 watt bulbs in the plumbing bays.
Fire up a space or cube heater in the bedroom and living room.

Pour a tall scotch on the rocks, put on your snuggie and watch Michigan State beat OSU!!

Insulation on the hose may not be enough. Heat tape would be better. I would put some water in tank or use bottled until it warms up and turn off water at source, unhook hose and drain. Put light bulbs in your bays to add heat where any water or pipes are exposed. Amazing what a light bulb will do in a closed in small space. Plenty of propane to run the furnace and settle in. If you have enough snow shovel it around the motorhome so it is up to the bottom of the coach. it will be a great insulator for underside area. Assuming you didn't cut plywood to enclose the underside area.

We are living in our RV in Hurricane, Utah waiting for our house to be built. It will not be done until the middle of January so we will be here on Christmas.

I am sitting here watching the snow fall hard outside the coach. I am not sure what part of "We hardly ever see snow here" I misunderstood, but this is the second snow fall in a week here. The worst part will be the night temperatures. The forecast is for 1 degree on Sunday night. We have insulation on the hoses and we will drip the water but I am not sure that will be enough. Has anyone gone through these types of temps?
