Well, my berries are ripe and I had to act before the birds got them all so I decided to try a new recipe. My family and I thought that this was the real deal.
I almost forgot, my little add to the recipe was to put a couple of shakes of cinnamon in the topping crust. I think the decision was a noticeable improvement to an already great recipe.

Oh my. I bet it would work nicely with blueberries as well which by happenstance will be in season when I go on my Kiddie Trip this summer. Keep 'em busy picking berries for the day and then make the pie. Ingenious! I'll probably opt for a cookie crust since we'll be tent camping:).
