You and me both. Just about time for me to throw another 20 pounds in the smoker. If I ever have to join a 12 step program, it might be for cheese.

X2. "low carb, paleo, Atkins, etc" often reference each other. Tons of websites.

Low carbohydrate diets continue to expand in popularity because they work and taste great. Tons of recipes out there, and some good websites have already been listed.
I started a ketogenic diet many years ago, originally for weight loss. (lost 70 lbs). However, the big bonus for me was the elimination of migraine headaches. I used to get 1 to 3 migraines a month on average, but now haven't had one in years.

Thanks guys. Seems like there is a lot to keep us busy. We are also not going crazy with it, only a low carb change of pace. We were getting tired of the same old same old. So far seems to be working.

Husband is not doing keto, but we have cut our carbs to a minimum. We still eat them, just not many.

This has become one of his favorite meals.

One bag of fresh brussel sprouts, or thawed frozen ones, sliced VERY thin
One can (yeah, it can be nasty, but...) corned beef (I usually use half the can for one serving)

Heat skillet, add some olive oil and toss in the brussels, add salt and pepper and a small amount of garlic powder/salt. Stir and cook until brussels begin to slightly brown, then add the corned beef and stir well, breaking up the corned beef. Turn down the heat and let the corned beef warm through.

Linked site has a lot of good recipes. We have made their fried rice, buffalo chicken, crab cakes, biscuits, three different pizzas, two different candies, all tasty and satisfying when you want something other than a chunk of grilled meat dropped onto a salad.

How about a 26 oz slab of Porterhouse charred on the outside and red on the inside served with a 1.5 lb baked potato smothered in sour cream, amish butter, and xtra sharp cheddar cheese?
Too many geezers, self appointed moderators, experts, and disappearing posts for me. Enjoy. How many times can the same thing be rehashed over and over?

As a health care professional with 42 years experience - and a wife who is a nutrition expert - my advice is to stay away from the "keto" diet and any other fad diet out there. Whole foods - preferably plant based - is the healthiest way to eat (and would put interventional cardiologists and CT surgeons out of business if everyone would eat that way). Shy away from dairy products and consider cheese poison. There are tons of replicable, peer-reviewed studies out there supporting this position.
