I have not made these yet, but I have put them with dutch oven recipes to try next time we are out.

Peach Cobbler

1/2 c - butter
1/2 c - sugar
3/4 c - self-rising flour
1 c - milk
1 (29 oz.) can - sliced peaches in heavy syrup, drain and reserve syrup

Put butter in a 9" x 13" baking dish; place in oven to melt butter. Stir sugar and flour together and mix well. Slowly add milk and continue stirring to prevent the batter from lumping. Remove baking dish from oven and pour batter directly over butter (do not stir). Spoon drained peaches on top of batter, then gently pour syrup on top. Bake at 350ยฐ for 55 minutes or until golden brown.

Martha's Peach Dumplings

4 lg, ripe peaches
2 pkg - crescent rolls
cinnamon
sugar

Syrup:
2 c - water
1 1/2 c - sugar
1/2 c - butter

Peel the peaches and cut each one into 4 pieces. Divide the rolls into triangles. Roll the peaches up and place into a 9" x 13" pan. Bring the syrup ingredients to a boil. Pour over the rolls. Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar and bake at 350ยฐ for 30 minutes.

Peach Crunch Cake

1 qt - peaches, with juice
1 - butter pecan cake mix
1 c - coconut
1 c - chopped nuts
1/2 c + 2 Tbsp - margarine, melted

Put in a 9x13" pan in order given. Pour melted margarine over top and bake at 325ยฐ for 55 minutes.

Had a cherry cobbler fixed in the dutch oven over a fire. It was great so I'm sure these peach delicacies will be delish.

Always made Peach Cobbler that way--yum, so delicious! I have also used apple, cherry, or blueberry pie filling in place of peaches.

I am definitely going to try the Peach Crunch Cake--that sounds divine!

Thanks for sharing.

My Mom used to make the Peach Cobbler just like that. So easy and so good! You can make a lighter version of it that takes just as good, using peaches in juice and Splenda.

Those all look pretty good, even better since I'm just starting a diet. Without hijacking the thread, anyone have a comment on why they think all peach recipes list canned peaches? With fresh peaches ready to pop, I'd love to see more recipes that reference fresh peaches.

I don't think you should wait until you are camping to experiment with a recipe like that. I believe you should make a large batch today and bring them to my house and I will make the sacrifice and sample them for you. It may take 2 or 3 batches to come to firm conclusion whether or not they are good enough to take camping, but I will TRY to be as honest as I can. TRUST ME!! I am only doing this for you, and not trying to freeload off of you or any one that I can get to make me a delicious dessert under the guise of "culinary sampling". :B :B Gary
