I made the Russian stuffed bread rolls(
Pirozhki, Runza in Nebraska) and they were great.
I did two types:
- ground beef, cabbage, onion, cheese, dill weed, ...
- mushrooms, butter, wine, onion, cheese...
I tweaked the filling recipes a bit for my personal taste, for example by adding cheese. These stuffed rolls, I think would be good prepared ahead of time then frozen for camping and making for an easy meal after defrosting. Nothing better than the smell of fresh baked bread.
