Volcano grill lid cover

We just purchased a couple of Volcano grill with the propane attachments for $49 a piece at Camping World. One for us and one for a future gift.

I was wondering if folks that have this grill, purchased and use the cover for making it work like an oven?

It sounds like a good concept but I wonder how they hold up and if it is worthwhile.

By the way, how do you like the Volcano Oven, and what do you mostly use it for?

I bought it 11/24 at our local Camping World. It was a clearance item at the store. We bought the 2 they had.

If you have a Camping World near by, call and see if they still have any in stock and what their price is, and if they will hold it for you.

We have gotten some really good deals of the clearance shelves there. terry r.

A Volcano Grill for $49.00? The best price I found was $100.00-ish. How long ago was this? Is that still available? Can you post link?

I also use it with my dutch oven. Works great and provides nice even heat to bake.

The cover is for use with a Dutch Oven. Works great in windy conditions. I bought mine mainly for use with my DO's. The propane burner is great for use with large pots. I've had mine for 3 years now, very satisfied.
