What's your favorite spaghetti sauce?

Everyone loves spaghetti and it's a fast and easy meal to prepare when camping. I'm not willing to make the sauce from scratch and there are lots of choices at the grocery store...what's your favorite? I haven't found one yet that stands out as the best yet. Also, do you add anything to the sauce to make it better like spices or ground beef?
I'm already making myself hungry....all I need is toasted sour dough, a salad, and a glass of wine and I'll be happy.

I grew up with spaghetti and my mom's home made sauce which, to me , was and is, the best. The only thing I didn't and still don't like, is premixing the sauce and the pasta prior to serving. I like to put on my own sauce. Call me crazy but to me that way tastes the best.

Not exactly on topic but when we travel we have several containers of sauce in the freeze. We buy from a little place in Eagle Rock called Casa Bianca and the medium container(we never use quart or pint when ordering, it's small medium, large). We get the plain red sauce, no meat but very tasty. DW carries Prego Marinara in a pint size for easy stuff like cabbage rolls. Other than that it's the DW's world famous homemade sauce.

So check with your favorite restaurant and see if they have take away containers of their sauces.

We use McCormick Spaghetti Mix. or any other brand of mix. We also only use one can of tomato sauce instead of the tomato paste.

I want the brand with the lowest sugar content so I read labels.

Prego is the favorite here.

Add the following to one big jar of Prego that comes in the two-pack from Costco, any flavor:

-One pound of browned ground turkey
-One pound of browned turkey Italian sausage
-One coarsely chopped sweet onion, barely carmelized, still a little crunchy, in a pat of butter and a tablespoon if olive oil
-One bunch of roughly chopped basil (or can be a cube of frozen basil from Trader Joe's)
-One clove of minced garlic (or can be a cube of frozen garlic from Trader Joe's)
-Small sprinkling of Italian herb seasoning

If I'm too lazy to make the old family recipe which takes several hours to cook, I like the DelGrosso line in a jar. Add a little meat and it's darn good for pre-made.

I have a great recipe....

Any can or jar of spagetti sauce or even plain tomato sauce. Add some water to thin it. dried basil, oregano, black pepper, dash of thyme, garlic powder, and optional just a tad salt (sauce already has salt in it). Optional diced onion and mushroom slices. Optional onion powder. Add cooked meat if desired. Simmer covered for 20 minutes. Add water to desired thinnness or simmer uncovered to thicken.

I make my sketti and pour sauce directly over the noodles.

Most jar sauces are bland to start. We always spice it up. Taste even better the next day!

Spaghetti sauce should have meat in it and so should Alfredo.

What kind of meat do you put in your Alfredo?
