Amazon Prime and Alexa

I have a very strange situation. I recently purchased an Echo Dot and was playing around with sending a message to my husband. Well my son called and said he heard my message 100 miles away.

I realize this is probably due to having an Amazon Prime Household account, I see all of his devices in my Alexa App. Which I did not connect, but they were there when I signed in.

My question is, is there any way to disconnect all these devices? I am willing to remove myself from his household account, but then I can't get another for 6 months, which seems absurd. If I open an account in my husbands name all my info is lost for past purchases.

If anyone can figure out a fix for this, I would appreciate it.

If the Amazon folks find listening in to my household interesting they lives are truly sad.

I'd also worry about these, as they scan your brainpan when you drive under for financial and other personal information using the Bernoulli effect of photosynthesized antimatter.

I believe you can disconnect the accounts as mentioned above. You can also deregister the device from your account (or your husband"s or son's). You can also separate your accounts as being shared Prime accounts but each of you would have to pay the annual Prime fee instead of you both being on the same account.

Hallelujah....Not unlike the "Smart TV" thread where big brother is watching and recording everything you do LOL. It might make sense to read the documentation when buying things and learn how to change default settings, usually found under the privacy tab. I have never seen anything be it a smart TV, a voice controlled anything, a PC, Smartphone, Google, or anything else, where one could not disable/restrict such options etc. You just have to be smarter than the device and take the time to research it out. Most do not make it easy, but those settings are there.

You have sort of created your own mess by sharing an account vs. paying for your own.
My best advice is to start fresh with your own account. Yes your data may be lost but that data belongs to the original account owner.

What I post is my 2 cents and nothing more. Please don't read anything into my post that's not there. If you disagree, that's OK.
Can't we all just get along?

I really donโ€™t want indoor cameras controllable by an outside ( trusted ? ) entity, nor do I want some to have the ability to listen to every word I say.

Unplug the Echo Dot. put it in a box. and return it to Amazon.

There was a news item recently. Turns out AMazon employees are amusing themselves by listening to Alexia's audio streams. THey pick a good one and listen in.
