A few days after my browser was updated to IE11 I started to have display problems. Some of the colors are not correct. Some of the layouts have changed. I use Luminosity and they have a calendar that shows days that you trained filled in with blue. Not happening now. One web site that I go to the reply to and start a new thread buttons are not there, Almost like I was not signed in. I dug out a old lap top and these problems did not exist on it. Any suggestions on the problems> I did un install 11 and went back to 10.

Here is the end of the problem. Took the computer to the repair guy that I use. There were no virus and no problem with the mother board. The problem as I try to paraphrase was with the display settings. He corrected the settings and did a check up on the system. Talking with him he thinks that maybe my wife, who has Alzheimer and plays solitaire on the computer, by mistake may of clicked on some things that made the problem exist. All is well and thank you for all of the replies.

And what happened when you tried another browser?

I tried CCleaner yesterday with no help. Guess I will take it in to have a pro look at or Buy A New Computer but I not sure I like Windows 8.

I believe the color display change is only one issue. Doesn't explain the loss of of formatting or buttons on a website? This is most often caused by browser corruption.

Since it was a few days after, I think your display color issues are unrelated to the browser update.

Might someone have changed the style selections for windows? There are many preset color schemes, changed with a click of a button.

Other possibilities would be hardware or firmware, like the display itself, graphics card/chip, or graphics drivers.

Laptop computer? Colors and brightness start going weird with partial failure of the connection (usually ribbon cable) between base and display. I had one go like this, for a few months could restore normality with a tap on the side of the display, but eventually retired the machine. Was a good excuse for processor, memory, storage and OS upgrades I wanted anyway.

I would try a simple browser change before going into much more in the way of diagnosing IE. If the problem also exists on a 2nd browser then it would be more likely that something within the computer is at issue.
What I post is my 2 cents and nothing more. Please don't read anything into my post that's not there. If you disagree, that's OK.
Can't we all just get along?

I would first make sure you clear out your old browser cache and cookies. Sometimes they get corrupted, and can cause formatting and other odd behaviors. A free utility such as CCleaner makes the process a one click solution.

If the problem still exists, then I would also suggest installing another browser such as Firefox. You can keep IE10 installed.

When I went back to IE10 the problem was still there. Could there be a board that is starting to bite the dust?

I 2nd downloading Firefox or Chrome. E11 is a total mess and microsofts nightmare. Its full of bugs and is hacker prone. You can't delete it, (thanks microsoft) but you don't have to use it.

Are any other programs having color issues?

Have you considered downloading Google Crome or Firefox. I have those and IE, and something called "Maxthon Cloud" that came with my new computer. I'm an internet software page tester and we have to test in several different browsers, and several different versions of the same browsers too. Sometimes there are differences between versions. The developers of specific web sites allow for a percentage of tolerances (bugs) as long as it does not adversely affect actual performance. I suggest you try a different browser. Downloads are free, and it give you nice options. Good luck.

Press F12 key in IE11 to access developer tools. Then click "Document mode" and select 10, and check your colors. This is a virtualization of IE10, so not exactly the same.

When you went back to 10 did the colors return to normal? If yes, that would indicate a potential problem with IE 11. If no, a potential problem with your monitor.

I've not heard of 11 causing problems like you describe....but I presume it is possible.

Have you used the Chrome Browser? Many are using that now in preference to IE.
