Question: 1. What LNB do I need to receive the Satellite signal?
A1:If your DirecTV receiver is SD only (not DirecHDTV) the existing LNB will work fine in all likelyhood. If not Radio Shack has lNBs that will A Solo, single or double (Double means two outputs) will work, basically anything works.
That said, Googling and downloading the manual it appears the H23 is an HD model, so that takes a special SWM LNB from DirecTV. It may, however work in SD mode with any LNB.. Still reading. Finished reading, still not sure
Question: 2. How do I connect the receiver (H23-600) to my TV (Analog)?
Answer Older Analog only TV's you can use the A/V (line) input, Red/yellow/white cables with RCA (Phono) plugs on them.. No Coax out to Tv
If you need to programming to a remote TV you can get a device designed for DVD players called a modulator, they go for around 25 bucks, A/V in, Coax out.
QUestion 3. How do I find out what the different azimuth and Elevations are when on the road?
Answer: this is the easy question, you ask the receiver for it.. Most likely MENU (Button on remote) SETTINGS, Satellite you should have an option that requests your ZIP CODE, enter it and then it will give you the suggestions.
If not,, many sat finder apps for your cell phone, most work well plus use the cell phone camera to test for trees, the sat you are looking for is located at 101 degrees west latitude.
Fine tuning the antenna (You did not ask) see menu path above, Signal strength, use a portable TV to view the program if you can (A Modulator makes this easy)
