Exit Now Interstate Exit Directory

Was the Exit Now Interstate Directory 2013 ever published? We never could find one and purchased The Next Exit 2013 and really, really don't like it at all. Is there going to ever be another Exit Now Directory? We had so much trouble flipping pages as we traveled that we absolutely won't waste our money on "The Next Exit" ever again.

Hope someone can give me good news on this because we really would like a new Exit Now for 2014. Thanks!

I understand Good Sam's business decision to have only one "Exit" book, but in my opinion, and probably most others that have used both books, they picked the wrong one to go with. Exit Now is (was) so much BETTER!!!!!

I understand that people are using cell phones and GPS for exit info now but the reason that Exit Now is still valuable is it allows you to plan 90 miles down the road without WiFi or knowing what city that distance will be. I ask my husband how many miles till empty then I plan ahead looking for truck stops on the route ahead and then find our favorites because I marked them on previous trips. It would be much more difficult to do that electronically. I am keeping my 2011 Exit now until it falls apart and would buy updates if they printed them. At least The Next Exit is still printing though I am spoiled by the layout and info in Exit Now.

exactly. If I plan on stopping in about an hour I ask the wife to check what is at exit >>>> and figure out which exit and direction I want to use/go.

I loved the spiral bound Exit Now directory!!! We haven't traveled too much in the last few years and now that we have a HUGE road trip coming up, I went online to purchase a new one. Wow, as the "navigator" I am horrified that my #1 navigational aide is no longer available! Boooo to the publisher for stopping publication of it!

Thanks, everyone, for your answers. I think my question was adequately answered. We don't use a smart phone or GPS so depend on maps. I'm the navigator and my husband is the driver so I was wishing for what I enjoyed using in the past.

.

I stumbled on to "Exit Now" by chance at the 2012 Florida RV Super Show - CW was giving them away with a $10.00 purchase as a close out .

It is by far the best interstate highway book - it is spiral bound , has a higher quality paper than other books , and the information is accurate and easy to read .

I continue to use and update my 2011 copy for trip planning .

If it is ever available again , I will definitely purchase it .

Trailer Life books is publishing less and less. We are very glad we have a Exit Now and the Bob Livingston Repair books that out of print also. These books had high quality information and are greatly missed.

Hi - I'm with Good Sam. Exit Now did cease publication in 2011 as mentioned. Sales of the book had decreased over the years and unfortunately, we had to make the difficult decision to not print the following year.

There are no plans to publish this particular book again, however we do continue to take all feedback into consideration. Though not quite the same as Exit Now, there is the Road Trip Planner tool at www.goodsamclub.com, and driving directions can be utilized in the Good Sam Camping mobile app. if you use iPhone or Android.

I've had both but did Exit Now highlight RV friendly stops in red like the next exit does?

I should have explained the format of Exit Now - it is arranged by Interstate number not by State. This means as you leave I-80 in Nebraska going West into Wyoming you don't need to flip to the "W" section for Wyoming. I guess no big deal to some of you, but my old copy of Exit Now was spiral bound and following each Interstate was so easy and the book actually had the listings in a better format as well. I was hoping someone from Good Sam would answer since they (or Trailer Life) originally printed this directory a few years ago.

One thing was you don't have to look for a new page every time you cross a state line. It would stay on the road you were on. I think they were all spiral bound.

that could be an issue when you live in new england, etc., with states the size of postage stamps, but driving 400 miles across Iowa or 900??? across Texas, it is not too much of an imposition. flipping pages does interfere with me texting while driving however.

I think what the OP is referring to is one is hard bound and one is on rings. The one on rings is much easier to use as you can fold the book over to stay on the page.

mine is soft cover but "bound". we use it with "tremendous" difficulty (that is sarcasm) but have not seen one with rings. yes that would be easier.
