Java Not Working on Browser?

I am using Firefox as my browser. I thought I had both versions of Java (32 and 64 bit) running.

I am attempting to get an Illinois Digital ID (whatever that is).

When I click on the link to go to the site to get the ID, I get a message in red that states that I have an unsupported Java Vendor.

I am stumped on this one.

Advice would be appreciated.

In Firefox Menu, go to Tools > Add-ons > Plugins and locate JAVA platform. In the dropdown, select Always Activate. Refresh the website(F5). Once finished, go back and change the properties to Ask to Activate or Never Activate.

Or download this handy Firefox extension QuickJava, and you can enable/disable JAVA, Javascript, Flash, SilverLight, Cookies, etc with just one click at the bottom of the browser window. I've been using this extension since it was first introduced.

Well I was able to get Java to work for me using IE.

This is one of those State Government deals and if you don't run Java you are out to lunch.

I apparently do not know how to enable it on Firefox or it will not run on my setup.

Remember, Java is different than Javascript- try going to http://www.java.com/en/download/installed.jsp to check the version you have.

Generally, Java is not recommended to be used, as it tend to be a risk.

Hi,

The latest versions of Firefox do not make it easy to enable java. DAMHIK.

I had to download a program to allow me to toggle java on and off.

Java Version 8 was just released...did you up date to it.
Try that and remove your older version.

or: Make sure you have Java enabled in your browser. It may be disabled. Check your plug-ins.
