I usually have no problem finding a place to set my Winegard Carryout where it will acquire the signal.. however soon we will be located in a campsite where a view of the proper sky will not be available from ground level... I think it might have a chance from the roof of the tt.. has anyone ever placed their carryout on their edpm rubber roof for a weekend or so... will it damage the roof?

They are also quite expensive. Especially when you compare it to sitting it on the roof for free!
Just be very careful going up and down a ladder. A fall would make the free mounting place VERY expensive!
What I post is my 2 cents and nothing more. Please don't read anything into my post that's not there. If you disagree, that's OK.
Can't we all just get along?

Please correct me however, I thought a special "plate/stand" is available that attaches to the top of the ladder and secures the antenna.

Are they practical?

Thanks.

Great idea that I looked into BUT I don't have an attached ladder or provisions to install one.. wish I did

Putting the Carryout on the roof will not cause any damage. You should not have any concerns about leaving it there if you can get the signal.

I've placed my tailgater on the roof for the last 3 years as fulltimers while we're volunteering 8-9 months per year if we're traveling I'll just set it on the ground or a picnic table. it hasn't damaged the roof.
