Shaw direct antenna

Hello folks...,

I'm living for Florida in a couple of weeks from now and i would like to know if some of you folks are there now and if our Shaw Direct antenna is still working?
I know the HD tv is not supposed to work anymore but are the two other satellite (Anik f1 and f2)works?

Dutchstar02, all you have to do is buy a new XKU lnb for your MH dish and don't forget to specify the size of your dish, 60 or 75 cm. That lnb will receive all three satellites. Just bring the receiver from home that is configured for the XKU lnb.
P.S. while in Fl, the newer satellite won't be received but you should receive the other channels you had last year.

I suspect as long as you have the orignal style Shaw dish and receivers you will have no problems.I know people whom have it in their trailers and motorhome and simply registered as a home system and shaw wont know the difference.The new HD say system is good for about 350-500 miles below the easteren US border from what i have learned. So I suspect it almost business as usual based on these ideals HOwever that being said why not get Dishnet while in the US??

I have never had the auto refresh work either from the web site or the phone - it has always taken tech service to get it done.
Hopefully you will have better luck.

X2 we do this frequently from Mexico.

By the way, if you were getting some HD channels before you should still be able to receive them. The third satellite, which needs a new LNB, and will not reach very far south, carries new HD programming. So far they have not moved the others.

You can also refresh your receiver on their web site.

"The services on your Shaw Direct receiver may have been interrupted due to a power outage or error. You can submit a signal refresh request to restore regular viewing or initiate the new services on your receiver. Log into My Account now to refresh your services online."

The satellites are still functional. The issue is going to be whether you need a receiver refresh. The home away from home program has been terminated meaning that you have to pay for the motorhome service on a separate account. If the LNB on your motorhome is the same as your house then you're in luck. Tell them that the receiver is in your house and they will refresh it. Don't ever tell them that you will be using the service in the US because they will not help you. I'm planning on having the motorhome receiver refreshed while still in Canada and paying for the additional service (50% on top of the home service) but reducing the channels to the bare minimum. Once the receiver is refreshed you need to use it on a regular basis to keep it current. If you need a refresh in the US don't tell them where you are because they won't do it - tell them you're somewhere in Canada.
