Suprised and disappointed

We have been supporters and Life members for a very long time, and I have always been first to defend the negative posts about Camping World customer service and accessory sales.

Unfortunately, today, I am understanding where the negativity is coming from.

We are getting our rig ready to be full timers and I have been watching the web for a decent deal on the Splendide xc2100 vented washer/ dryer combo.

Camping World had an internet sale for $987.34, which is a pretty decent price so we decided to push the buy button. But wait, no buy button. Said out of stock and orders will be filled as received and to call 800 number. Called 800 number and spoke with a very nice young man by the name of Josh.
He proceeded to let me know that he, himself could not place the order and there is no info available.

Explained to him that according to PPL motorhomes, it will be available in May of this year because Splendide is in the middle of another production run.

Josh told be in the last few months he has lost dozens of orders for these and is going to get info and let me know. His records show one in stock at each store in Mesa. Main Street and Coury Ave. He advised me to call the stores since inventory could be wrong.

Well, I attempted to contact the two stores for 3 days, before 6pm, and the phone went directly to answer mode, saying to call back during store hours. .??? Not open during the day?

Finally was able to back door to the Main Street store who advised me the one they did have was sold and installed today! Grrrrr.

Was unable to get through the phone mess at Coury Ave so had the gentleman at Main Street transfer me directly there. The man who answered was extremely rude and told me it was a catalog only item. After. A bit of conversation 🙂 he agreed to check stock, and advised me they didn't have it. So now I am frustrated and more than a little disappointed.

Geez Marcus, we watch your show. Can you please tell me what happened to people, process and product? I understand you cannot be everywhere. You say that is where good management comes in. Am I missing something here?

Bumpy, if you fully read the OP, his complaint is not that they are out of stock but the run around he got when trying to track one down.

I noticed that just recently CW is selling the Dometic brand w/d, but non vented only. I sure hope they get the vented Splendide back again.

Where are you reading this from? My issue is as stated, their phone system for 3 stores obviously being out of order ( yes three... Same thing happened when I called both the local and 800 # for Flagstaff store ), the CS person at the main line having no access to order the unit, even though CW web site says contact them to order, and the rudeness of the associate at the Coury Ave store. If their phone system had been working, I could have gone to the Main St store and purchased it either Sunday, Monday or Tuesday, before it was sold!

Bumpy, you should read the post before you make a statement like that.

Short supply does not excuse rudeness or not answering phone particularly when one of those would have, had they answered made a sale OP: "Finally was able to back door to the Main Street store who advised me the one they did have was sold and installed today! Grrrrr."
You can ask for a rain check and should have been offered one.

Wish they all were as good as the Camping World we use at American RV, in Grand Rapids, MI.
They are fantastic there!
We just concluded getting new base plates, wiring, and an InvisBrake installed on our new Jeep Cherokee TrailHawk. I couldn't have been more pleased with the helpfulness, politeness and promptness. Everyone there was on their 'A' game.
I worked as a Service Advisor at a GM car dealership for many years and am quite picky on my service experiences too.
It comes down, as so many things do, to the people. They must follow the process and be the correct people for the job. If they are not, the store manager needs to make people changes, and the sooner the better.
Makes me miss my old job, because when it works, it's a lot of fun!!

What's worse is to go into a store (not necessarily Camping World), and find the item on display and you ask for help locating one to take with you. You finally flag down someone to help you, and then you find out, the item on display can only be ordered through the internet? What?

Actually had this happen to us at Babies-or-us and Wall Mart this month looking for a baby crib for our grandson! And last summer at Wall Mart attempting to buy new patio furniture. Yup, true stories.
