What tablet to by?

I guess I need a new tablet. I have a older Motorola Zoom MZ505 family edition and the app I need is "not compatable". ๐Ÿ˜ž I need to run dropbox and open an excel file on it daily. I'd also like to run Waze on it while driving. If I could figure out how to use it as a second monitor using a USB it could also work. It's running Android 3.1 now. Anybody got any "Why don't you..." advice?

For those of you that are using Android tablets, which ones have built-in "assisted GPS" (like the ipad with LTE capabilities) for fast location finding?

Just my 2 cents! I bought a 10.1" RCA tablet with removable keyboard about 2 years back. It has Windows 10 and I have kept up the Upgrades! It has 2 GB RAM, and 32 GB internal storage, and is expandable! I paid $78.00 on closeout, the new models were being introduced!:C

The two monitors I use now are 32 TV's. One in the bedroom and one in the living room. I have a PC hooked up to them running windows 7. We download movies to it and watch while camping. I also do work in Quickbooks on that PC. Quickbooks doesn't like to share a screen with other programs. At home I use two monitors side by side. Works well. On the road I could use a tablet as a "stand alone" and display an excel spreadsheet on it. It's stored in dropbox. My employees update it daily. I can't see both monitors I have now at the same time so I need a tablet to display excel.

One thing that the iPad does EXTREMELY well is to reproduce its screen on a TV via Apple's "Lightening to HDMI" adapter.

This is one of those features you may not need very often, but comes in really handy when you have a use for it.

That's where I'm lost on what to buy. If you talk windows 7,8,10 or XP, I can follow the conversation, but when it comes to all these "food items", mashmallows, suckers, frozen treats, etc., ...

The Android OS versions are in alphabetical order, so Marshmallow is newer than Lollipop, before that was Kit-Kat, etc.

I think the newest is Oreo (V8.0, 8.1), the next one will start with "P".

Thanks. I didn't know that.

If you are already comfortable with Android based tablet, find a newer one. I like the Samsung Galaxy line for Android. My wife liked her Apple iPad. They both will do what you want.

Could you elaborate on using a tablet with "two monitors"? Do you mean simultaneously?

Please respond to this question.

Sorry, I was sleeping. Really. I have now.

I'd use the tablet as a "stand alone" and display an excel spreadsheet on it that is stored in dropbox.

So you are referring to the tablet itself as the second monitor? I guess I misread your post and thought you were trying to attach the tablet to two monitors . . . :S

I am not an apple fan but for tablets you really can't beat them, they are the original.

Ipad air 2 is what I use and travel with. I stream XM radio and use the google gps because it runs through my stereo to be sure I don't miss an exit

+1 on the RCA Viking Pro 10.1. Great bang for the buck. The one I bought a couple months ago has Android 6.0 and a built in GPS so its great for navigation. Another plus is it has a regular charging port that is much more robust than using the micro USB port, though that can also be used to charge it.

Just about any new tablet will do what you want. You aren't doing anything exotic.

Ipads are nice but overpriced for not much more usefulness.

I would head over to your local Best Buy. Tell them exactly what you want to do with it. Let the nerds do their thing and set you up. Youโ€™ll also be able to compare screen sizes while youโ€™re there.
If you have a smart phone, you could use that for Waze. Otherwise, youโ€™ll need some sort of data plan.

To each their own. The wife absolutely loves her Apple I-Pad. I absolutely love my Dell flip back screen laptop computer. Both do the same things and both of us are happy.

Nothing wrong with either of those products. But they cost more than $75.00. There are very inexpensive very capable Android tablets available.
