2010 Silverado 1500 and a bumper pull toy hauler


Front truck axle 3500 lbs
Rear Truck axle 4800 lbs

Trailer axle 6600 lbs


I gvnr says 3950 lbs for the front and rear axle ....


Am I 850 lbs over ?

I also have a ATV in the bed of the truck.

If the rear-end goes out, can I replace it with a 1 ton rear end as long as the ratio is the same ?

You might be close depending on the configuration of the 3/4 ton. Figure 1,500lb for the trailer and whatever the ATV and other stuff in the bed weighs. Current F250 has a payload of 3,305 to 4,267 so if you got a configuration at the low end it might be close. Just look at the yellow sticker when shopping.

With a 1/2 ton pulling a toy hauler the size of yours PLUS an ATV in the truck bed I don't have to crunch any numbers to conclude that yeah, you're WAY over the truck's payload capacity. Wow! :E

FWIW, I currently tow a 19' couple's model that typically averages ~ 4800 lbs loaded & ready to camp, with an average gross tongue weight of ~ 625 lbs, ~ 430 lbs of live "cargo" in the truck, ~ 200 lbs in the truck bed, and with my 1/2 ton 2012 Silverado I'm pretty well tapped out of payload capacity.

Are you over? ... no doubt about it, WAY over. 😞

I'd be concerned about not only the tires and dims but the entire driveline, especially the rear differential, the bearings are not designed or rated for that much load.

Yes, you are significantly over payload and rear axle ratings. You can pull the trailer or carry the atv but not both at the same time.

At least 850 over what is the TV GVWR? More worrisome yet is what is the weight rating of your TV tires.
