the 'net - - rather than the site for Silent Valley itself.

IMO - nothing to do with the Banning area - but everything to do with
signing you up for a *LIFE* membership......that's almost impossible
to cancel or sell to someone else..:(

Yeah that is too weird! You did right by not accepting his beer. Then you'd never have gotten rid of him. Plus, who wants a stranger hanging out in your camp, having him look at your stuff, your wife and your kids. AWKWARD!!!!

hey all - wow we went there with the grandkids and we/they a great time. but, - i was bbqing and this guy walks up and offers me a beer saying he's missing his son and seeing me with the kids makes him miss him even more,etc. i refused his beer and he walked away. the next day i see him with his ankle bracelet -too bad - nice place run by some great hosts. what places close by would the forum recommend? definitely like the "banning california" joke!

Mark is probably right about the place itself. The mountains are backed up to Indian land. The problem I have is the city itself. I hate going into that town to the local store. It's filled with parolees, probationers, burglars and meth-heads.

I stay at the Banning Stage Coach KOA a couple of times a year. It is a peaceful place up against the mountains. I've never had a problem there; it's just down from a school.

Just a note, don't take the 8th street exit off of the 10 freeway if driving east, go to the next exit as the 8th street exit has a huge dip that will drag your tow bar. That's her general rule for SoCal.

Take this member's advice. I live in Upland, about 25 miles or so from Banning. No reason to stay there as there are much better choices a few miles away.
