Black Tank Dumping?

I recently traded my Cougar Fiver in on a new Montana 3721RL. When dumping my black and gray tanks on the Cougar it was obvious by the noise they were dumping. When I pulled my Black Tank handle for the first time on the new Montana I hear nothing? Gray Tank..same thing?

Here’s the strange part...

When I checked inside prior to dumping the black and the gray tank both registered 1/3 full. I did leave the black tank handle open when I went back inside and ran some water into the toilet. I went back outside and still nothing. The DW then yelled that the black and gray tanks were now reading zero fill. ?
I never did hear anything going through sewer hose, and the sewer hose didn’t have any residual liquid that I could tell left in it.

Only other thing I should mention is that this was the first camping weekend with the new rig and the temperatures dropped to a low of around 25 degrees overnight. Could this be part of the problem?

Sometimes the dump station has better suction than others...ditto on the clear elbow.

FYI, its best if you dump your black tank when its 3/4 or full only.
That way you get rid of all the tanks contents and do not have a possibility of any residual buildup to clog the tank.

OR better yet buy a clear adapter. Connect it between drain pipe and sewer hose. THEN you can watch the stuff flow.....no doubts and you can also see liquid clear up as you flush/rinse tank

X-4, I can see what's happening, regardless of what those ridiculous gages say.

I do not always hear it when I dump the tanks. But I sure do see what's going through them.

I also use the clear adapter so I can see what's coming out of the tanks. (Kinda like watching the preverbal "stuff" go down hill.) I would also suggest that, if possible, run water from a hose or maybe even a near-full 5 gallon pail of water down the toilet. If you're still not seeing anything there is a serious problem with the valves. It's not like that has never happened, but quite unlikely.

I don't normally hear much of anything when I dump, but I have a 45° clear elbow at the outlet that lets me see what's going on. Sometimes I can also see the hose bounce around a little when I first pull the handles.

I'm confused (I often am)
Are you asking about "flushing" or about "dumping?" These are entirely different.
