Campground rates RVing on a budget

I was floored when I saw a campground advertising on this site for 4500 a month or $150 a day for just an RV spot. To me that is the cost of a luxurious home. I want to pay around $500 or less a month on campground fees. I checked and the local lake in Kansas is $250 a month for a nice site with electricity. For $500 a month are there just certain areas that will be off limits? Is it possible to find an RV site in Florida for $500 a month? I know not the beach but maybe the interior. What is the average campground fee? Is it hard to find affordable campgrounds? Just wondering if I am going to be limited to RVing in places like Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma due to cost. I would love to RV in Florida, California, Oregon, Washington, etc. but am wondering if that is just going to be out of our budget.

Since there is another thread on the same topic and it's been cited, no need for this one to continue.

I'm sorry I didn't mean to irritate anyone. I saw a couple of responses that didn't really answer my question directly and then I didn't see the thread any more, but I think I got some good responses that answer my question now. I will see if I can find the other thread and read the other responses I never got to see.

Oh you didn't irritate me personally, but when one posts a question gets over 2 pages of responses and NEVER RESPONDS or thanks folks for their attempts to help and then reposts the exact same question again less than a month later makes me for one wonder if we are just wasting time and effort to help someone or if there current or previous questions were even serious ... THINK ABOUT THAT:W

Help is often a two way street and IMO simple common courtsey seems to be lacking at times and a gentle reminder again IMO is never a bad thing.

The simple fact that you admitted you hadn't kept current of what transpired in that other thread makes my reminder just that more germane in this case.

Something else one IMO should remember is that getting ones panties in a wad themselves to the extent that they must become a self appointed "PANTIES WADDED JUDGE" and attempt to chastise other panty wadders is another telling self reflective insight that is interesting to say the least.

Look at it this way, my post gave you more info that almost this entire thread to remind you about all the responses you admitted you hadn't read in the other thread about the exact same subject.

Campgrounds cater to all kinds. So naturally prices will fluctuate wildly.

Yes you can camp for around what you are looking for. You can also go much cheaper, even free if you care to. You also can spend much much more.

I've seen small lot in small towns for $200 a month, fishing lots on lakes for $350, Lots on golf courses for $425 all in central FL. I've also seen the $1500 a month that really didn't impress me.

You didn't irritate anyone but some folks here have their panties in a wad as soon as they see a post. You are fine, some of these folks need to get over themselves! I read the forum everyday and it never surprises me the responses of some. Man, some of these folks need to loosen up! Shake your head and think well too bad for them and shake it off. There are really some nice, down to earth, helpful, considerate folks here. I sometimes think I need to get older and grouchy to be on this site. Hopefully, I will always be nice and if not keep my mouth shut! Remember camp on and have fun!

I'm in FL, 15 mins from the ocean, paying $400/month plus electric. Of course, I'm paying annual rates. Your rates will vary based on season and length of stay, as well as distance from water or major attractions.

That $4500 park would be the top of the top price wise. Saying parks are too expensive based on this one example would be like saying you can't afford to decorate your walls because a Van Gogh sells for more than 100 million.

We're paying under $450 on the Gulf Coast along Hwy 19 and stayed on the Atlantic Side near Stuart for under $500 both included electric and full hook ups. They are out there you just have to look but they are not Resorts!! Same when we stay up in MI but on the road we use passport as much as possible for over night stays!
