Deciding on a used Travel Trailer

Hi guys

Trying to find a used late 2000's through early 2010s trailer that can sleep at least 7, with bunks, usual amenities(galley, appliances, bathroom). My towing vehicle has 6000 lb weight limit and 600 lb tongue weight limit so looking for a trailer with low 4000 lb dry weight and under 480lb tongue weight. My budget is about 3-4 grand.

Can you recommend a year/brand/make/model to fit my criteria?

What brands are considered as most reliable and ones are to stay away from?

Hi guys. Got a 2007 Trail Light by R-Design C21RBH hybrid, in decent shape, state inspected. for just over 4 grand. Sleeps up to 8. Very light at 3500 dry weight (inc installed optional accessories) so can be pulled with most late model SUVs and even minivans. My family esp kids are stoked (bunk beds!!!).

Trying to learn features. Previous owner recently replaced water heater and cannot answer my questions about water systems.
- When trailer is hooked up to a water line (via City Water plug), how do I know that there is water in the water heater tank? I want to make sure there is water before turning the heating element on to avoid damage. My understanding is that the fresh water tank is now nearly drained.
- Prev. owner has said he used a company to winterize so right now need to pour in water/chlorine solution to flush out the fresh water system. How do I do that? Suppose I mix up a gallon mix and find way to pour through City Water plug on a size of a trailer, but will it damage water heater tank and tank element?
- When its time to winterize, how do I bypass the water heater tank? I can't locate any valves etc.

If folks can please point me in the right direction!

There are several manufacturers that offer a floorplan similar to this. You might find one in your price range. Two small people could fit on the couch and two small on the table/bed.

You could also remove the upper cabinet in the back and put another double bunk above the double on the bottom and sleep seven. It would be tight, but still better than a tent.

You may be able to find this floorplan in a trailer that meets your weight/price requirements.

A hybrid TT may be the only trailer to meet your criteria.

You might be able to find a hybrid with three tilt-out beds that would sleep 7. Also, some bunk models have storage under the bottom bunk and can be converted to a triple bunk. But usually they are going to come in at a higher weigh and depending on the tow vehicle the wind resistance of a TT is a big issue.

You might get lucky but your budget is low. Further, your truck will probably be overwhelmed at the size of TT you said you needed. Won't find one that light. I've got a light 22 foot Winnebago that is supposed to sleep four (right!) and loaded/wet I'm 5,100 pounds.

I would suggest someone sleep in a tent.

I hoenstly can't picture a bunk model that meets your weight requirements, especially the toungue weight.
Also, at that price point you wont have the pick of brands. I would research Pioneer, Rainier and other similar brands.

I wish you the best of luck in your search! Hopefully there's the perfect match out there for you but be ready to give on one thing or another.
