This seems to be my experience. I have been "off level" many degrees sometimes several times and the refrig. still seems to work. When I am towing my combo is level because I know it's important when on propane.

I guess I'll be the oddball. I almost never level. When I first started RVing, I was fanatical about being perfectly level. As time has gone on, we just pull in to our site, hook up and relax. I really don't care about being half a bubble off, nor do I even notice it any more.
It's an old wives tale that the fridge will be damaged if off level. It just will not optimally cool if on LP, but it will not do any damage to the cooling unit unless the whole coach is over on its side.
