Toileting and the overnight stay

We will be taking our first long trip in our motor home soon. For a single overnight stay before we reach our destination, we are staying in a Wal-Mart parking lot. I have heard from others that you don't want to use your toilet while travelling. Am told if I need to use the facilities during the night, I should go into the store and use theirs. By the time I do that at 2am I will be fully awake! Besides, when I gotta go, I gotta go now. I probably wouldn't even make it. So, do I get a 'ladies' urinal funnel and go in a jar to be emptied later? Get a box of heavy duty depends? Or do I just use the darn indoor toilet? Hey, I'm older now and my bladder isn't what it used to be! What do some of you other ladies do? HELP!

Use the toilet in your RV. If your water tanks are dry carry water that you can added to the toilet to flush. I am thankful for Wal-Mart for letting us use there parking lot for the nights rest, I would not use their bathroom late at night, if I had my own bathroom in the RV.Safe traveling. Gary

Yes use the potty for over night, just do not dump it there, wife turns pup on, does her business washes hands turns pump off, gets back in bed and then proceeds to kill my kidney with a good knee jab.

Also make sure you at least have a half tank of potable water in the water tank while on the road, when you get to the camp ground hook up and then dump your tanks.

Those that gave you that information probably do not have RV's, we had a VW bus and wife used the porta potty the same as the toilet in the RV that's what they are for, then there are those that only use the RV as an expensive bedroom, they do not use the bathroom or the kitchen, go figure?

A cg bathroom would probably be just as much as a hike as a walmart one, thought the lights would be less bright and she wouldn't have to change out of her nightclothes (might need to put some on!).

I'm in Western NY in early October I winterized my travel trailer and towed it down to Kentucky to store until I pick it up on my way to Florida.

I kept two extra jugs of antifreeze in the bathroom for FLUSHING. Yes, we used the john while camping in the Walmart parking lot.

When I get to Florida, I will empty the tanks when needed.

For the first two nights before hitting warmer weather we don't have running water. We keep a full 5 gal pail in the bath tub. Flush with some of that, not too much.
We keep a smaller pail in the sink for soapy water. This is all just in case as we very seldom need it.
For the pail in the sink I cut out the bottom of a 2 gal antifreeze container, it's a perfect fit in the square sink.

If for some reason you cannot use your RV toilet, I recommend a widemouth water bottle, jar, or similar container instead of those lady funnel things.

Depends.. on your motor home. If it is fully equipped with fresh water, and tanks for grey and black water, with a bathroom and toilet, that is what they are for. Who says not for travelling, and why?? We use ours routinely, and sometimes even while rolling down the road. Have to stop if driver needs to use it. Just hold on, and remember, "everyone Sits". Fun part while rolling is trying to get pants back up without falling over.

Use your toilet, just turn your h20 pump on, fill the bowl up after you make your deposit , dump, and then turn your pump off, then go back to bed:):)

What's wrong with using your toilet? Did the 'others' say WHY they told you that?

Welcome to the forum.
Use the toilet in your RV. That's what it is for, not just when you are a campground.
The 'others' don't know what they are talking about.
