Advice on TT for my Truck

Own a 2013 F150 ECoboost CC 4x4 Door sticker 1400lbs

Towing now a 2007 Aerolite weighs 4100lbs + /_ loaded. This is actual weight from Cat scales. Dry it about 3100, so we are carrying 1000 lbs of stuff + / -

Looking at a new TT.

1- Planning to stay under 6000lbs loaded. I am sure the truck will pull that ok. Opinions?

2- On payload, there is only two of us. we travel pretty light but want to carry 2 kayaks and 2 bikes.

Looking at the smallest Coachman Catalina TT ( I think ). It is a 213bh. Shipping weight is 4246lbs. Gross is 7000lbs. I don't think we would ever go over 6000lbs loaded.

Advertised exterior length is 25'6" ( box is 22' I think ). Hitch weight is 462lbs ( dry I am thinking ).

I am concerned about sway with a longer TT. No problem with the 18' with just a friction bar.

Let me have it. What do you think?

No, our AC and heat are not ducted. But since we do a fair amount of dry camping we don't use the AC much.
We had a hybrid TT for 8 years but DW's knees wouldn't let her climb into the bunk end anymore, so we moved to a full TT. It was a toss between the 21 and 22FBS, the 22 having a couch.

We tow a Lance 1985 23' 4" TT with a F150 with the small V-8 without a problem.

It has a walk around full queen bed and is very comfortable & roomy.

Thanks for the info.

mbopp, Your TT plan has pretty much what we are looking for, walk around bed, nice bath, dinette. Have not looked at North Trail.

Considering one with outside kitchen too.

How do you like your layout? your ac is ducted I think. How do you like that vs non ducted?
Thanks

See my sig. The TT is 26-1/2' ball to bumper. Most of the time it's my wife and I, no pets, a canoe on a rack in the truck, and maybe the Honda 2000i generator. Actual dry weight on the TT is 4800#.
I haven't weighed this setup wet yet but the EB handles it just fine. I'm using a Reese DC for WD / sway control. The EB is not a max tow and is running "P" tires.

I pull a 27 foot tt with my 2012 Silverado with a friction sway control and I don't have any sway issues except for the time I had a 30 mph wind from the side. It pulled fine but you could feel the wind but on a normal day no problem.
