I am not selling a dinghy. The purpose of this thread is to get all the ideas about where to list or advertise and any tips about selling you might have... The assumption is that the dinghy is ready to tow...

Here are three places

escapees

Hitchtrader

RVT (under the category tow behind cars)

I sold my previous TOAD/dingy on RV Trader "Tow Behind Car" just a few months ago. I was asking top dollar, but felt it was worth it. Had a number of inquiries and sold it in 3 or 4 months for close to my asking price.

One feature I like about the RV trader listing is you can list it until sold for (I believe it was) $89.00. So you don't have to be in a hurry to sell it before the ad runs out. Also you can edit and modify the ad at any time.

I sold my previous Class A a couple of years ago on the same web page with good response and results.

When we sold our Chevy Trailblazer about 6 months ago - we used the the top three TOAD classified sites. Ultimately, all the calls and eventual buyer came from the free posting on craigslist just under cars/trucks category. It took 2 weeks to sell.

I found a few toads for sale at the FMCA site at:

http://www.fmca.com/classifieds/Forms/searchads.aspx

Use the "Towed Vehicles" category.

I just tried to list our dingy over on Hitchtrader and it will not take the ad. Yet there are a few listings on there.

I just sold a Jeep via EBay. Headline for the ad stated "Setup for RV Towing" and I listed what was included.

I had about 10 people email for additional information. Be sure to put a reserve or be willing to sell it for whatever.

It worked, I'm happy with the price I got and the buyer, who purchased it over another Jeep that actually had less miles and more toys... but was NOT ready to be towed, is happy where their purchase.
HAPPY TRAILS!
