Hello all, I was just wondering if there was any one in the valley that would be willing to help me with setting up my WD hitch? I just picked up a new TH and the dealer setup the hitch but now that I have it home I notice the rear end of the trailer is a bit lower than the front. This new trailer is also really low to the ground and the rear is only about 8" from the ground; I really don't want to mea up my new trailer but I feel uncomfortable making adjustments the the hitch setup myself and im hoping someone experienced could help me out.

Update: I finally got out there and made the adjustments to the WD setup and by droping the ball assembly down one hole on the shank and with the bar snapped up with four links hanging free, my TH sits almost perfectly level! And the truck sits very level as well. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Ron3rd, thanks for the offer but I need to get this don as I'm leaving on Thursday for the Tahoe area.

The hitch was what was supplied by the dealer with the new trailer. It's a Husky system with round bars and a friction sway control. The bars are labeled for 801-1,200 LBS.

Dave,
What hitch did you buy? I'm in the Inland Empire, about 200 miles away, but would be glad to give you a hand if you were in my area.

Thanks I will definitely be working on that since the trailer is about 1.5" lower in the rear and I have not loaded the atv yet.

Sorry! I had a brain fart! That is what I get from trying to operate on the forum from a cell phone.

I meant to say lower the hitch head on the shank. You may need to turn your shank over if the bottom bolt is already in the lowest hole. If you can't do that then you would need to purchase a new shank with a longer drop. The dealer may swap it out if that is necessary.

Thanks for the reply Barney, but I just wanted to see if I understand correctly: my concern is the rear is sitting to low and you re amend I raise the hitch ball? Wouldn't I want to lower it?

No need to be fearful or hesitant to work on your hitch. Look at this thread for some help.
In your particular case, sounds like all you need to do is take out the two large bolts holding the hitch head to the shank, raise the head up to the next set of holes and insert the bolts. Check your trailer measurements and if it is level or very slightly nose down, tighten up the bolts to the recommended torque of approx 300ft/lbs.
Good luck.
