Coach 12 VDC went away, no apparent reason

Last Saturday, we were at the track. The Generator had been running for a little over 4 hours when within a few minutes, the 12 VDC in the coach died, and the generator shortly thereafter quit. Up until the generator quit, both a/c units and two battery chargers were running just fine. The coach batteries would not crank the generator, but cranked just fine when I used the "alt-start" switch, but quit again in short order.

I didn't have a chance to take a good look at it until today. Went back out to the track and for what ever reason, the coach batteries had a good charge, cranked the generator, and the generator started and ran for about 3 hours. Again, with both a/c units and a charger running. The convertor/charger was putting out about 13.5 VDC today. No further problems as yet.

Anyone else have similar problems or have any ideas I should consider?

The generator is a Kohler 7,000 in a 1990 Holiday Rambler Aluma-Lite on a 1989 Chevy P-30 chassis.

Thanks for any help you may be able to offer

Maybe, but unlikely. Saturday, the high was about 98. We have been doing this in temps. over 105 all Summer, with no problems. It was also 98 yesterday when we went back and ran it for another 4 hours with no problems.

I have battery disconnects on both chassis and coach batteries because there is a drain on the coach batteries, and if left connected for an extended period, it will completely drain the batteries. But, it has never been a problem while connected to shore power or generator is running.
